i have a science background but am fairly new to film critics and what they talk about.
in science, references are used to support statements, introduce some ideas that other scientists may propose, etc.
they have a purpose.
Movies ain't real. Even documentary films are somewhat rigged.
A nod to a famous scene is a compliment. Right off I can think of the sistene chapel, Marilyns dress blowing up. Simpsons has famous artwork showing up in the homes. South park.

i , and my wife had probably left about 12 months prior to this magazine coming out , and i never at that time had any knowledge of it till many years later when i joined this site.. when i did see it , i was appalled that they could put out such an article , in a magazine they would distribute throughout the world .. to me it smacked of child abuse .
these were kids , who had no life experiences , who were far too young to make life or death choices of their own , were influenced by religous leaders who had their own agenda , and sadly by family , relatives and freinds who were indoctrinated by a man made religion that has its roots in america in the late 1800`s .. so my question is , did this episode of child abuse go under the radar of mainstream media ?
did it escape child protection agencies of the time ?.

if you can void people talking about your true sexual identity then it seems there is no sin anymore if two they or them of the same sex are together.
example of the coverup: ("i don't identify as either gender"), so the kids i'm raising in a lesbian relationship need not speak of me as a mom or any other female term and we all don't have to feel any stigma attached to the true terms so, any shame we might feel is hidden anyway.
There is no way to know what imaginary pronoun to use. In the store i will say thank you ma'am or sir. The constructs of language require rules if we are to understand each other

We had an elder have an affair with a brothers wife. When the innocent got killed he married her and left his first wife. of course he was reinstalled as soon as possible because he was from a well known family.
The part I cannot forgive is he invited my wife ( before i was around) to travel with him alone. She now knows what he was after and was very naive. I dearly love my wife and try to protect her, I knew her weaknesses then and now and am glad she did not get hurt. She is MY wife complete with faults, and trying to hurt her still galls me.
i just washed all my summer quilts and put them away for the season.
i brought out the thicker and heavier winter quilts and put them on the beds.. i love patchwork quilts and have a couple of heirloom ones actually made out of the scraps of old family clothes.
my mom can point to a fabric and say," oh, that was a dress of mine when i was little," or, "that was my mother's apron.".
Where I live it is freezing one day and 80 the next so we keep an extra fleece cover available
